Danske Commodities takes Borås Energi och Miljö on a journey to Swedish flexibility

Borås Energi och Miljö sees great potential in flexibility solutions. As its appointed Balancing Responsible Party (BRP), Dansk Commodities will connect a diverse portfolio of assets, including CHP, hydropower, electric boilers and battery storage, to the energy market. This integrated approach aims to maximise the value of existing assets and unlock new market opportunities, particularly in ancillary services.

Anders Brodén, Head of Energy Trading at Borås Energi och Miljö, expressed his confidence in Dansk’s expertise, especially in managing volatile markets such as CHP. He emphasised Danske’s strong track record in the Danish flexibility market, noting that “over the years they have built up leading market expertise and developed the necessary systems to create value for their clients and the market”.

Kalle Kastan, Senior Promoter at Danske Commodities, emphasised that their aim is to be the partner of choice for Swedish energy companies, offering a full range of services including renewable energy, cogeneration, biomass, waste and batteries. Based on 20 years of trading experience, we aim to create value for our customers through balancing and asset optimisation,” he says.

The partnership marks an important step for both companies, with Borås Energi och Miljö gaining access to Dansk’s market expertise and optimisation tools, enabling them to take advantage of the growing demand for flexible energy solutions. Danske Commodities, on the other hand, will strengthen its presence in the Swedish market, build up a large and diversified portfolio of assets and consolidate its position as a leading service provider in the energy market.
