First Academy’s Millie won her second consecutive FHSAA Class 1A girls’ golf title, shooting a 66 and a 1-under-par 70 for a 136 total in the opening round to beat FAU High School’s Kayla Bryant by one stroke.

TFA finished second in both the boys’ and girls’ tournaments, ending a 13-year streak of Orlando-area private schools winning the sport. Boca Raton FAU High School claimed the boys’ title with a 296 on Wednesday for a two-day total of 578 at Las Colinas.

Lena is the first girl to defend her individual medal since 2018.

In the team competition, the TFA boys were locked in a three-way battle down the stretch, but trailed Palm Beach Benjamin School (602) and Jacksonville Episcopal School (603) by one stroke.

Palmer Haynes, a member of the UCF team, was TFA’s top scorer on Wednesday, carding a 71 for a second-place 144 total. Royals sophomore Mingbo Kang shot a 145, one stroke behind third-place Haynes.

The Lake Mary Prep boys finished fourth with a 609 and senior Barry Chang was eighth (74-74-148).
